How we export
What travels with your goods, which terms we sell on, and how they reach you. If a detail depends on the product, the product page says so.
Documents
Each shipment goes with the papers your customs and your buyer expect. Tell us the goods and the destination, and we confirm which of these apply.
Lab analysis
Laboratory analysis is available on request. The sample is drawn from the lot that ships, not from a reference batch, so the result describes what you receive.
Certificate of analysis
States the measured quality of the lot, so you can check it against your specification.
Phytosanitary certificate
Issued in Egypt by the plant health authority. It shows the plants or plant products were inspected for the importing country. A fumigation certificate is added where the destination requires it.
Certificate of origin
States that the goods come from Egypt. Customs in the destination country may ask for it when they assess duty.
Commercial invoice and packing list
The invoice states what you pay for and on which terms. The packing list states what is in each package, for customs checks and for counting on arrival.
Bill of lading or road consignment note
The carrier's record that the goods were taken over. By sea this is a bill of lading, which you normally need to collect the cargo. By road it is a road consignment note.
Terms of sale
We quote on four Incoterms. They say who pays for what, and where the risk passes to you.
- EXWEx Works
- You collect the goods at our premises or loading point, load them and pay for everything from there. Risk passes to you when the goods are ready for you there.
- FOBFree on Board
- We deliver the goods on board your vessel at the Egyptian port. You pay the sea freight, and risk passes to you once the goods are on board.
- CFRCost and Freight
- We pay the sea freight to the port you name. Risk still passes to you once the goods are on board in Egypt. Insurance is yours.
- CIFCost, Insurance and Freight
- The same as CFR, and we also arrange marine insurance to your port.
FOB, CFR and CIF are for sea freight only. For air shipments, tell us the airport and the quotation confirms the terms.
Sea and air
Most goods go by sea from Egypt's ports. Frozen and fresh lines travel in refrigerated containers, and frozen product is kept at -18 °C. Beverages, grocery and household lines can be mixed in one 40 ft container. Fresh and frozen lines can also go by air.
Markets
We ship now to Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, mainly Kuwait. Other destinations are reached through our forwarding partners, so tell us the port and we quote to it.
Packing and labels
Beverages, grocery and household lines carry Arabic and English labels. Olives can be packed under your own label: custom labels, litho-printed tins and brine made to your formulation. Frozen vegetables and fruit go in retail bags or bulk export cartons. Carton sizes are on each product page.
